WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE: 1 Saree
SITARA is a handwoven Bhujodi saree where the quiet texture of kala cotton meets tiny points of light.
Woven in the traditional extra-weft technique of Kutch, the soft cream body is scattered with small geometric motifs in burgundy, mustard, olive and earthy red. Each motif is formed directly on the loom by introducing supplementary weft into selected warp threads, creating details that appear almost embroidered while remaining an integral part of the weave.
Delicate sheesha mirror work sits within and around these motifs, catching the light without overpowering the understated character of the saree. Like little stars against the natural cotton ground, the mirrors give SITARA its name and its subtle festive sparkle.
A mustard, green and deep pink-red striped border frames the drape, leading into an intricately woven pallu filled with fine extra-weft stripes and traditional geometric forms. The pallu ends in beautiful lace-like openwork with hand-tied tassels in red, mustard and olive, giving the saree an artisanal finish from beginning to end.
Lightweight with the characteristic slightly slubby texture of handwoven cotton, SITARA holds its drape beautifully without feeling stiff. A plain blouse piece is included, leaving room to style the saree with either a striking contrast or a quieter tonal pairing.
Earthy from afar, luminous up close — SITARA carries the discipline of Bhujodi weaving with the unexpected sparkle of tiny mirrors.
